Sometimes when you are meal planning it can be hard to know where to start. There are 5 questions you can ask yourself before you start meal planning that will make it much easier. One key question to ask is “is my meal plan balanced?” I create the Bon App meal plans to be balanced over the course of the week so that you can be sure that you are getting most of the nutrients you need for a healthy and happy week.
Monday: Moroccan prawn salad
It’s starting to feel like summer and this dish looks like it too! Enjoy this Moroccan prawn salad with couscous and vegetables inspired by my travels in Marrakech.
Tuesday: Egg Florentine on toast
Did you know that during her reign as queen of France, Catherine de Medici was said to have enjoyed spinach so much that it was served at every meal. To this day, dishes made with spinach are given the name “Florentine” reflecting Catherine’s birth in Florence.
Wednesday: Asparagus risotto
My top tip for an easier risotto, is to add the stock in 3 steps rather than adding and stirring continuously. You’ll get exactly the same results and you won’t feel like you’re being a slave to the stove!
Thursday: Cordon bleu with pan fried green beans
The French term cordon bleu is translated as “blue ribbon” and likely refers to the blue ribbons used to tie a cook’s apron. I love that the name is inspired by a visual of cook making their homemade food with love and hope that you will love making this classic French recipe.
Friday: Ravioli with spring vegetable bake
This recipe was given to me by one of my mum’s friends who lives in the South of France. It’s possibly one of the easiest recipes I’ve made and it’s so much healthier to add vegetables to the ravioli rather than simply adding a sauce.
